Members of the LMC Team joined J.C. Snavely & Sons at their yard in Lancaster, PA to celebrate 90 years of partnership. J.C. Snavely & Sons is currently the final founding member of LMC. The lunch was prepared by local family-owned business, Harvey鈥檚 Main Street Barbecue.
For 90 years, we have supported each other, demonstrating the power of relationships built on collaboration and mutual success. The celebratory afternoon included a tour of the yard, reconnecting with staff, and sharing lunch.
This milestone celebration highlights the rich history of one of LMC鈥檚 most enduring partnerships.
J.C. Snavely & Sons, Inc., a lumber, building materials, and millwork supplier spanning six generations, has been serving professional builders since 1878, founded by Moses Snavely. The business evolved when his son Jesse C. bought the mill in 1894 and formed J.C. Snavely & Son.
The company expanded through the decades, joining 35 original stockholders to form LMC in 1935, officially becoming J.C. Snavely & Sons, Inc. in the late 1940s as Jesse鈥檚 sons joined the business. The company continued growing, purchasing Lancaster Box and Shook Co., opening a millwork division in Lancaster, celebrating their centennial, and constructing a 50,000-square-foot architectural millwork facility.
Leadership transitioned to the fifth generation in 1990 and now looks toward the future with the sixth generation, Steve Snavely鈥檚 sons Nick, Chris, and Jesse at the helm.
